NITI Aayog's Atal Innovation Mission Unveils Student Entrepreneurship Program to Accelerate Entrepreneurial Journey of Young Innovators

SI TeamPartnering with Dell and Learning Links Foundation, NITI Aayog’s Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) unveiled ‘Nayee Dishayen NayeNirman’ program on January 11, the eve of Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary. This program’s prime motive was to celebrate the top six innovations of the country across agritech, healthcare, clean energy, smart mobility, waste management and water resources, under the Atal Tinkering Lab(ATL) initiative.

“Promoting innovation is the key to creating sustainable solutions for a New India. The AIM is transforming curriculum and pedagogy by encouraging the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship in young minds. By ensuring children are exposed to cutting-edge technologies in ATL, a whole
generation of creative individuals are being created who are poised to become job creators and not just job seekers,” asserts Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog.

Echoing on similar lines, Ramanathan Ramanan, Mission Director, AIM, “The ATL is the flagship program of AIM which acts as a catalyst of growth by embedding the value of innovation, technology and entrepreneurship amongst children as young as 12 years old. Over 3500 children from different parts of the country came together to develop over 650 product ideas to solve everyday problems using latest technologies and their out-of-the-box thinking”.

Hailing from Hyderabad, Pune, Changlang, Goa, Satna and Delhi, the six teams involved in this program are being felicitated with a 10-month ATL Student Entrepreneurship Program with Dell that ought to shape their innovative prototypes into fully functional and go-to-market products. In addition, this program will stand asa catalyst and accelerate the entrepreneurial journey of the young innovators in establishing a New Innovative India.
